K Town Bar and Grill is a newish restaurant which is part of the Castelo Concepts, serving diners a collection of weekend brunch option and other dishes as well as week day set lunches. Kennedy Town is not a place I go very often, but we wanted to try somewhere new and suggested this place.
The restaurant was bigger than I thought, and it was quite busy on the weekend, thankfully we made a reservation. The menu was vast ranging from salads, burgers, tacos, and many more. We were here with ‘The Mother’s’ family. I couldn’t go past the crispy skin rotisserie chicken – herb and garlic rubbed, slowly roasted and basted, served with veggies and rich chicken gravy, (HKD95 half, HKD165 whole). It was a relatively large serving – enough for both Dragon and I. The chicken was tender and the rich gravy sauce was RICH! Too rich for my liking.
‘The Mother’ couldn’t go past the pork belly – snap crackling pork belly, apple confit, sweet potato mash, baby carrots and rich pork gravy (HKD135). The crackle was fantastic, however, the pork could be more tender I thought. Shame as the crackle was gooooddddd.
Both the FiL and MiL had salad, I didn’t take a photo of their dish but from memory they had the Mr “Percival” salad – salmon sashimi, chunky avo pieces, baby cress, crispy rice pops and wasabi soy dressing (HKD145) and Thai beef salad – fresh lettuce, cherry tomatoes, green papaya, bean sprouts, coriander and mint and our own thai dressing and toasted peanuts (HKD125) – They both said that it was very tasty.
Service was friendly and polite. The restaurant is very child friendly during the weekend. I am not sure what it is like at night but definitely good during the day. Will definitely be back to try their other dishes.
